Women in Learning & Leadership Training I – Women University Multan

WILL(Women in Learning and Leadership) training was held under the project ‘Fostering Critical Thinking Skills for Gender-Inclusive Socio-Economic Development’ at Women University Multan.

On the first day of the training, introduction of the project was given by Project Manager Ms. Wardah Iftikhar, whereby she mentioned that the pressing challenge for the present day is to empower women through training to overcome barriers to their social mobility and networking for participation in economic activities as an effective workforce.

Lead Consultant Dr. Munazza Yaqoob mentioned that the objective of the project is to develop critical thinking skills and critical feminist consciousness in young women (both teachers and students) in universities to enable them challenge socio-economic oppression through creating the community of practice and establishing critical thinking circles (CTCs) at Women University, Multan.

The inauguration was followed by rigorous training on modules of ‘Social Inclusion and Gender’ and ‘Critical Thinking, Gender Equality, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution by trainers Ms. Sofia Hussain and Dr. Sonia Irum. Writer and filmmaker Ms. Jennifer Lee spoke to the students virtually about the women rights’ movements in the US and the present days challenges faced by women. After the online session, former Chairperson Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Multan, Ms. Novaira Fahad and Ms. Filza Mumtaz interacted with the students to motivate them about their entrepreneurial ventures and informed them about functions and opportunities available at WCCIM for young students.

Mr. Azam Khan trained the young students on business communication and explained Basic concepts of entrepreneurship to convert an idea to a successful business.

Speaking at the WILL training, Registrar Women University Multan, Dr. Qammar Rubab applauded the efforts of Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness for promoting socio-economic development and entrepreneurial environment for the women faculty, researchers and students.
