In continuation to increase their understanding of the startup ecosystem and equip them with opportunities in their areas, a networking visit for 60 students and 5 teachers (in two batches) to Durshal Swabi was arranged to enable the young women to collaborate, innovate, access training, and launch new businesses.
On June 15, 2022 an exposure and networking trip to Durshal Swabi was arranged for students from Women University Swabi by Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA). The engagement is part of the project Fostering Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurship Skills in Young Women for Gender Inclusive Socioeconomic Development (FCTEW). Durshal (meaning “gateway” in Pashto) is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board’s Project that has been envisaged to anchor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s digital transformation by establishing a network of community spaces across the province with the goal of enabling the youth to collaborate, innovate, access training, and launch new businesses.
The exposure visit assisted the beneficiaries in expanding their networks, establishing industrial links, exploring entrepreneurial potential and employability opportunities, and expanding avenues of cooperation and better understanding between the young females of Women University Swabi and industry.
Mr. Huzaif Tila – Coordinator Durshal gave a thorough presentation to the students regarding Durshal Swabi acting as a one-stop facility for the development requirements of SMEs of the Swabi region.
Speaking of the occasion, Mr. Huzaif also stated that “We need to improve the environment for SMEs because they create opportunities for more growth, broad space innovation, and better skills in local and global markets.”
Furthermore, the founders of startups; Uplifters, Diya’s Couture, Zaib e Hunar, and Beauty Care; incubated at Durshal spoke with the project’s beneficiaries telling them about their business journey and advising them on the basic skills and resources required to start a business.
