Exposure Visit – Swabi Chamber of Commerce
Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA) organized an exposure and networking trip for 65 students and 7 teachers of Women University Swabi to the Swabi Chamber of Commerce for students from Women University Swabi on June 15, 2022, The engagement is part of the Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness (SFEA)’s project Fostering Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurial Skills in Young Women for Gender Inclusive Socioeconomic Development (FCTEW). The exposure and networking trip is an effort to create networks and promote connections between female faculty, researchers, and students and the private sector and civil society.
This was the first-ever visit of the students of Women University Swabi to the Industrial Estate Gadoon. The students were warmly welcomed by the Economic Zone manager Tanveer Ahmed told the beneficiaries that Gadoon industrial Estate houses 168 industries. He further said that society works on balance – men and women must work together to improve Pakistan’s economic conditions.
Mr. Muhammad Israr, President Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry motivated the girls to take up the nonconventional fields of business. He said that women need to step forward and work alongside men for the progress of the country.
Mr. Muhammad Salman Khan, Secretary-General Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry spoke on the occasion and informed the females of Women University Swabi about the structure of the Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, its current linkages, and ways to be part of the Chamber.
The students were given the opportunity to interact with the professionals and ask questions in order to pave the way for future opportunities.
