Exposure Visit – GCU Business Incubation Centre
Under the Project Fostering Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurial Skills in Young Women for Gender Inclusive Socioeconomic Development (FCTEW) at Government College University (GCU) Lahore, an exposure visit for 17 students to GCU Incubation Center was arranged. The students were given a tour of the GCU Business Incubation Centre (BIC). Participants were guided about how BIC is an excellent opportunity for faculty, students, and alumni to refine their entrepreneurship skills. An array of resources and services ranging from physical incubation space equipped with Information & Communication Technology (ICT) facilities, funding opportunities, entrepreneurship training, and skills, mentorship, protecting intellectual property, and converting innovative ideas into successful enterprises, were shared with the students.
Since the students belonged to other universities too who had come to participate in the 2022 Second All Pakistan Summit of the Student Societies at GCU Lahore, BIC trainers emphasized that the pitching idea competition is open also for students other than GCU in which the best ideas are inducted for business incubation.
The day ended with some group pictures and videos where students excitedly raised the slogans like “Women Can and Women Will!”
GCU Lahore administration applauded the SFEA team for their support and expressed their interest in furthering collaboration with SFEA for their future events.
