Women In Learning and Leadership Training Rawalpindi Women University -II

Four Day WILL (Women in Learning and Leadership) training under the project ‘Fostering Critical Thinking Skills for Gender-Inclusive SocioEconomic Development’ was conducted at Rawalpindi Women University.

The training is a project of Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness(SFEA) in collaboration with Rawalpindi Women University to socio-economically empower its teachers and students. After the training the students will have multiple networking trips and exposure visit. The students will be helped to develop business ideas and will be eligible for seed funding for pursue their passion projects.

The project was introduced by Manager Wardah Iftikhar. The inauguration was followed by rigorous training on modules of ‘Social Inclusion and Gender’ and ‘Critical Thinking, Gender Equality, Peace Building, and Conflict Resolution’ and ‘Research Women’s Literature – Case Studies from Pakistan and United States’ by trainers Ms. Sofia Hussain and Dr. Sonia Irum.
Raja Shoaib Akhtar, the Executive Director at SFEA, shared his thoughts on the importance of having goals and absorbing knowledge and exposure for achieving them. Dr. Munazza, the founder of the Critical Thinking Forum, brings immense value to the event through her presence and raises the morale of participants.

Women entrepreneurs namely Ms. Naima Ansari Representative of the Women Chamber of Commerce and industry Islamabad, Ms. Sadia Bashir founder of Pixel Art Games Academy, Ms. Ambreen founder of Let’s Grow Together, Ms.Muzna Khan Founder of Web Solutions were invited they shared their entrepreneurial journey’s, challenges and solutions to the common problems women face.

Overall, the training session was successful in providing knowledge and exposure related to women’s entrepreneurship, critical thinking, gender equality, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution to the participants. It encouraged the students to think about becoming part of the business community and becoming financially independent as businesswomen. the students had a great learning experience.
The administration at Rawalpindi Women University expressed their appreciation for the SFEA team and expressed their eagerness to continue working with SFEA for their upcoming events.

The training session was attended by 51 students from different disciplines.
