Critical Thinking Circle I- Rawalpindi Women University

Shaoor Foundation for Education & Awareness, under its project “Fostering Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurial Skills in Young Women for Gender-Inclusive Socioeconomic Development” (FCTEW), organized a Critical Thinking Circle at Rawalpindi Women University after conducting Women In Learning and Leadership training and an Idea Design Competition. The first session of the Critical Thinking Circle was held at Chaaye Khana. The session commenced with Ms. Wardah Iftikhar, Project Manager of FCTEW, sharing insights on the importance of critical thinking and women empowerment. Further, Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor of RWU, delivered a thought-provoking talk on how women’s empowerment can bring about positive changes in the world.

The focus of the discussion revolved around “The Moment of Lift” by Melinda Gates, offering an in-depth exploration of Melinda’s journey and her experiences with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, chapter by chapter.

The overall discussion proved to be engaging and enriching, leaving a profound impact on all attendees. Participants gained a deeper comprehension of how women can achieve financial freedom and security, while also developing a greater appreciation for the pivotal role of education and health in women’s lives.

The Critical Thinking Circle served as a platform for meaningful and inspiring conversations, encouraging all participants to critically evaluate their experiences and perspectives, and fostering progress. “The Moment of Lift” presents a compelling and informative read, offering valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities faced by women globally. Despite some limitations, the book constitutes an important contribution to the ongoing global discourse on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
