Exposure Visit – NIC Lahore
To develop the understanding and familiarization of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Pakistan, a networking visit for 30 students and 3 Government College University Lahore teachers to the National Incubation Center Lahore at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) was arranged. During the visit, the young women were encouraged to find their business niche.
Officers from NIC Lahore namely Ms. Hooran Khattak (Associate partnerships at NIC Lahore), Ms. Minahil Zia (Community Manager at NIC Lahore), and Ms. Saima Rana (Head of OPS at NIC Lahore) delivered sessions on fundamentals of startup ecosystems and business ventures. They gave participants a tour of their Facebook Innovation Lab where artificial intelligence, machine learning, and virtual reality technologies were employed. Their facilitators also walked GCU students through NICL Makers Lab and other high-potential, tech-enabled solutions that are
successfully bringing real-time impact to Pakistan’s most critical areas of development.
The trainers encouraged students with unique business ideas to apply for their start-up incubation programs for entrepreneurs so that NIC Lahore can help bring them to life.
