Dr. Munazza Yaqoob

Dr Munazza Yaqoob is the Chair of the Department of English, Founder & Director of Critical Thinking Forum (CTF), and EX-Director Institute of Professional Development (IPD) at International Islamic University, Islamabad. She completed her post-Doc in 2016 from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, USA. She is the author of two books: Nurturing Creativity in Literature Classrooms: Cognitive Teaching Model for Developing Creative Thinking, and An Introduction to Pakistani Women Writers (1947-2017). She has had numerous research papers published in national and international journals and has also edited the book Muslim Women Writers of the Subcontinent (1870-1950). She has completed two fellowships: SUSI Scholar (Pakistan) for US Institute on Culture and Society at Multinational Institute of American Studies (MIAS), New York University by the State Department, US Embassy in 2014, and Australia Awards: Women in Executive Leadership-Pakistan 2018/2019. She has also worked as a Project Director of the CTF’s grant project titled “Consciousness-Raising of Pakistani Women on Contemporary Academic and Social Issues (2015-2018)” in collaboration with the Department of State, US Embassy, Islamabad and the Australia Award project “Gender Balance in the Workplace” in collaboration with the University of Queensland, Australia in 2019-2020. Currently, she is working as Co-Project Lead on a research project “Mentoring Early Career Women Researchers in Pakistan” with Dr Rachel Carroll in Teesside University, UK in collaboration with Global Women Research Development Fund. She is also engaged as a member of the Advisory Committee of core experts for the project of Shaoor Foundation for Education and Awareness on Countering Violent Extremism in Pakistani Universities
