Sofia Hussain

Sofia Hussain is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). She is currently doing her doctoral research on “Developing Critical/Reflexive Skills in Literature Classroom: Teaching Pakistani Female Novelists in English through Critical Feminist Pedagogical Approach.” Her MS thesis was a “Feminist Critique of Kamila Shamsie’s Salt and Saffron and Broken Verses.” She has been presenting at various national and international conferences and has conducted many workshops. Her research interests include Feminist Theory, Critical/Feminist Pedagogy, Pakistani Literature in English, South Asian Literature, Comparative Literature, Literary Theory, and Postcolonial Literature. She is a member of the core committee of Critical Thinking Forum (CTF) and is currently also working on a Research Project (2019-2021), “Women Writing Pakistan: Gender in the South Asian Literary Landscape” by Teesside University, England, in collaboration with QR Global Challenges Research Fund, UK.
