Women in Learning & Leadership Training III – Women University Multan

A three-day training was held at Women University Multan from April 27, 2022 to April 29, 2022 under the project Fostering Critical Thinking and Entrepreneurial Skills in Young Women for Gender Inclusive Socioeconomic Development (FCTEW). The training was designed around the conscious raising of women’s rights and gender-inclusive socio-economic development. The purpose of the training was to increase women’s empowerment by developing critical thinking skills in young female students, establish links between academia and the business community, support female faculty in their research initiatives and provide them opportunities to develop their startups.

During these three days, Ms. Sofia Hussain and Dr. Sonia Irum, project consultants and faculty members at International Islamic University Islamabad, provided comprehensive training in the areas of social inclusion, gender, women’s empowerment, and critical thinking. Various activities were conducted and informative videos were shown to the participants to make the sessions more interactive and full of learning. The training encouraged participants to discuss various women’s issues in their communities, and solutions to those issues were also discussed towards the end of the sessions. On the fourth day, Ms. Sidra Jalil, entrepreneurship trainer spoke to the students about business planning, business communication and idea mapping.

The training helped the students in developing critical thinking skills and critical feminist consciousness as young women in the universities to enable them to challenge socio-economic oppression through creating the community of practice at Women University, Multan.

The training was held online due to Ramzan and unavailability of training slots at University’s end. The training was attended by 30 students
